The community of Chinese people in Italy has grown rapidly in the past ten years. Official statistics indicate there are at least 114,000 Chinese in Italy, although these figures do not account for illegal immigration. In 2007 a several dozen protesters took to the streets in Milan[1] over alleged discrimination. The northern Italian town of Treviso also banned Chinese lanterns because they looked “too oriental”
